I’ve been having a bit of a rough week mentally.

As I’ve mentioned before, I am a ruminator. Usually, it doesn’t take much to send my thinking into overdrive. An offhanded remark that unintentionally cuts, a deluge of negative newstories, an empty email box – any one of these could spark a spiral into imposter syndrome and negative thinking. This week saw all three of those.

Lucky me!

At the beginning of this year, I promised myself that I would do whatever I could to distract myself from negative thoughts. Do; Don’t Stew! was going to be my motto. Turns out, that phrase isn’t as easy as it sounds. Especially when it’s 2AM and you need to get some sleep.

But, I am trying. I’m starting my doing by logging offline and busying myself with word sprints, bread making, and office organizing. This weekend, I’ll busy myself with babysitting my grandbabies.

All of this beats doom scrolling and reading into between the lines of well, everything.

BTW, one of my organizing plans is to create a schedule of sorts for these posts. For example, pep talks on Monday, MFA posts on Tuesday, Family History on Wednesday, etc., with wiggle room for announcements and other types of posts. This will make it easier for you to read the updates you want when you want.
